Me And My Shadow
I want to get another Honda Shadow - or, best of all, get my old one back :)
My friend and co-worker Chris, in Tucson, bought my Shadow from me back when
I first thought that I was leaving Arizona for Utah. It didn't seem like a
good idea to me to have a motorcycle living at 7000 feet in the Wasatch
Mountains - and, as it turned out, I was right. In addition, I was starting
to feel a little insecure riding that bike on the surface streets of Tucson.
Tucson doesn't have much in the way of freeways. I'd like to get a bike now,
for commuting on the freeways around here. Phoenix is an old Papago word for
"large pueblo just plain eat-up with freeways".
Last I heard, Chris was going to sell my old bike - he'd bought another one.
I haven't heard from him lately - when I lost my Fidelity email archives, I
lost the address I had for Chris. Hey Chris - if you're reading this, send
me email at the "Email Me" link below and let me know if you've sold that bike.
Or call me - 435 640 2953. I want to buy a bike, but I want to make sure that
you've sold that one before I buy another one.
I've had four motromocyclicals - a Yamaha, a Suzuki, and two Hondas. I've never
really wanted to buy a Harley, because I've always heard that they aren't very
reliable. But given the right price - and a
very very good warranty :) I
might
go for a Harley. I've also seen something called a Vulcan on the streets here -
I might check those out, as well. Good looking bike.
I want a cruiser - like a Shadow or a Virago. I'm not into crotch rockets or
touring bikes. And I want it to be a V-twin, because I love that "blatblatblat"
sound :) Ethel has allowed as to how I can have another motromocyclical. I
don't
think that she's considered yet that my new employer does not have the
absolutely
fantastic life insurance coverage that Fidelity had. When she does realize
that,
I expect the rockclimbing gear and motorcycle leniency to disappear :)
